New Wave Singers is a Member of

The New Wave Singers of Baltimore Inc., Maryland’s only auditioned GLBTS community chorus, is searching for an Artistic Director for the 2009-2010 season.  The chorus rehearses on Tuesdays at 7:00 - 9:30 PM from September to June. This is a 12-month, part-time, contractor position that requires approximately 30 hours per month.  Annual compensation is $7,200.00.  Duties include, but are not limited to: planning for and directing weekly rehearsals, sectionals, and dress rehearsals; directing major concerts and outreach performances; and attendance at monthly Board meetings. The Artistic Director will collaborate with the Board of Directors, Accompanist(s), Section Leaders, Music Selection Committee, and other chorus committees. Qualified applicants will possess the following: Bachelors degree and/or equivalent prior experience in choral technique and vocal pedagogy; Diplomacy, consistent leadership and organizational skills; Ability to lead and inspire a volunteer chorus that has varying levels of vocal skill and musical ability; Knowledge of and experience with a variety of musical genres that support and promote New Wave Singers’ Mission and Vision.   Please e-mail your resume, cover letter and references to directorsearch@newwavesingers.org, or mail them to New Wave Singers, PO Box 2012, Baltimore, MD 21203 by midnight, July 17, 2009.
